The E10 error means fill fault — washer didn't detect water reaching the required level within the time limit.
The GE front-load washer displays the E10 error and halts the current cycle until the underlying problem is fixed.
Check these in order. The first cause accounts for the majority of E10 errors.
The hot and cold shutoff valves at the wall are partially or fully closed, or the supply hoses are pinched behind the machine. Check both before anything else.
Mesh screens inside the inlet valve ports trap sediment. Partially blocked screens reduce flow below the fill threshold.
GE washers need adequate water pressure to fill on time. Weak flow at nearby faucets indicates a supply pressure issue.
If supply, hoses, screens, and pressure are all fine, the inlet valve solenoid itself has failed.
Follow these in order. Stop as soon as the error clears.
Turn both hot and cold shutoff valves counterclockwise as far as they go.
Cut power before inspecting the inlet valve.
Pull the machine forward and check both hoses for kinks.
Disconnect hoses and use needle-nose pliers to remove mesh screens. Rinse clean and reinstall.
Run a nearby faucet full-blast. Weak flow = upstream supply issue.
Test the valve solenoid with a multimeter and replace if no continuity when energized (~$20–45).
