The UE error means unbalanced load detected — the drum can't reach safe spin speed.
The Samsung washer displays the UE error and halts the current cycle until the underlying problem is fixed.
Check these in order. The first cause accounts for the majority of UE errors.
The most common cause by far. A single heavy item (towel, jeans, blanket) bunched on one side creates enough imbalance to trigger UE during high-speed spin.
Single heavy items like comforters or rugs are inherently hard to balance. The machine tries multiple redistribution attempts but can't achieve balance.
If the washer sits on an uneven surface or has uneven adjustable feet, the imbalance threshold is crossed more easily. Check with a level.
Samsung front-loaders have 4 suspension rods that dampen drum movement. Worn or broken rods allow excessive drum movement even with balanced loads.
Follow these in order. Stop as soon as the error clears.
Cut power before opening the door or adjusting the load.
Open the door and manually spread items evenly around the entire drum. If there's a single bulky item, add 1–2 similarly sized towels to create a balanced load.
Place a level on top of the machine. Adjust the threaded feet at each corner until the bubble is centered. Lock the feet with the jam nuts.
Close the door and run a Spin Only cycle. Watch for excessive rocking — a well-leveled machine with a balanced load should spin quietly.
With the machine empty and unplugged, open the top panel. Grasp each rod and check for broken plastic cups or collapsed springs. Replace all four rods as a set if any are damaged.
